Turkish airlines likes to charge an awful amount of money and play like its a competitor of Emirates, however, this is as bad as any third world country airline. I sent my aging parents 70 and 80 yesterday, one in business and one in economy from Los angeles to Lahore. The following idiocies are what to expect after dishing out all your money on this pathetic airline.

i) At the airport the bureaucrats behind the ticketing desk assured that both will get to the business class lounge - as is usual for companions - but once they were in and I had left them in the 'capable' hands.. they were not allowed to be together.

ii) Food in business class was terrible - the fish was overcooked and the only other option was chicken (which would have been terrible too)

iii) The crew, mostly male, is not able to comprehend English

iv) Istanbul is not able to cater to folks that need wheelchair assistance. The stewards were not available to help take the hand bags out from the overhead cabin. My parents were stuck in waiting pattern for hours for this reason and not able to even get to the Business Class lounge there.

v) The funniest / lamest thing about the customer relations is they do not understand plain english. Try to get answers and they start like dumb robots - answering everything but the question. HIRE ENGLISH SPEAKERS.

Avoid this airline unless you speak turkish or you get a ridiculously low price. This wannabe international airline is not worth it. My recommendation to at least Pakistanis.. fly Emirates..
